Who I am

My name is Bethany Blastow. I am a certified Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in the State of Maine, with a solid education in Swedish Massage and my concentration in Shiatsu. I look forward to being part of the Waldoboro Community.

MY MISSIONS

I want my clients to feel better! It sounds simple, and for some it may be. Massage Therapy may be needed to relieve the stress and tension day to day life brings. Strain and pressure can wreak havoc on a bodies muscles and structure, For those who suffer from chronic pain due to repetitive movements at home or in the workplace, Therapeutic Massage is extremely beneficial My goals are to help each client form an individualized and balanced treatment plan, based on their particular needs. No two lives are the exact same, so why should your massage therapy sessions be the same as someone else's?

My Beliefs

Massage can help people in so many ways. Pain management is the most sought after treatment along with stress relief. Here are a few ways having Massage Therapy on a regular basis can help to relieve that pain.
The human body is made up of 206 bones, with around 650 skeletal muscles. We use these muscles to do everyday activities. Some muscles we move more doing constant motions. This is what we call repetitive action. Weak and tired muscles, old injuries and repetitive movements can all lead to improper body mechanics.
Therapeutic Massage is about getting to know you, the client, and recognizing any imbalances to help relieve your chronic pain. Imbalances include muscles that are too tight and ones that are not working hard enough. Every muscle is made up of fibers. When you have a tight or overused muscle they become "knotted" and can shorten or stretch in ways that they are not meant to. When this happens they can pull on opposing joints and bones often causing pain. This is where all the benefits of Therapeutic Massage come in.
